Words Without Borders

Words Without Borders (WWB) is a nonprofit literary organization and online magazine that promotes global cultural exchange through translated literature. Founded in 2003, it provides a platform for contemporary international writing, making it accessible to English-speaking audiences. WWB publishes a monthly digital magazine featuring poetry, fiction, and nonfiction translated from over 140 languages, focusing on underrepresented voices and fostering cross-cultural dialogue. In addition to its magazine, WWB develops educational resources for high school and college educators, hosts events such as readings and workshops, and produces anthologies of translated works. Its primary audiences include readers, educators, translators, and cultural institutions, all of whom benefit from its commitment to enriching the global literary landscape. The organization is supported by various institutions, including the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts.
