Freelance reporter with a wide range of interests/knowledge; always interested in rights, Trump. hate speech, the environment, and American gun law reform. I am a painter, a graphic designer, craftsperson and sometimes actress who moved to Hastings from Aberdeen. Becoming a writer - becoming a journalist was for me mandatory when I saw the crime, what I consider corruption, waste, destruction of green belt, and the cabal of uber rich who ran the town to their own liking. I became a campaigning journalist working on issues such as Aberdeen's Union Terrace Gardens and a slaughter of wild deer in order to grow trees on a hill where I proved the Forestry Commission reported they could not thrive. I later studied at Brighton Journalist Works which is now sadly closed, but the professionalism of the journalists who taught us will be remembered for a long time by my fellow students and me. I have written for Aberdeen Voice for 10 years. It is the online newspaper created to counter the Press and Journal (a megaphone for the powerful and city council - which subsidizes it to the tune of at least £1.5 million), and AV is happily still going strong. My writing for AV can be found at www.aberdeenvoice.com . There are years' worth of my satirical columns as Old Susannah. I suppose I am mostly known for writing about and campaigning against Donald Trump. As a New Yorker, I knew what Trump was like. I started a petition after his sensationally mocking a New York Times reporter's health condition and slating Mexicans. This was signed by over half a million people and resulted in a very colourful UK parliamentary debate. I am part of gun-law reform campaign group One Pulse for America, formed by actor/activist George Takei following the Pulse Nightclub massacre. I research and write actions for our 85,000 members to take. Reviewing bands, interviewing performers is also a passion, and I have reviewed / interviewed acts including Richard Thompson, Spear of Destiny/Kirk Brandon, Deborah Bonham, The Temperance Movement, Paul Rodgers. Many of these pieces can be found on Aberdeen Voice www.aberdeenvoice.com I research and write many articles about Trump; over the years I helped the BBC with a Panorama segment about Trump. I helped filmmaker Anthony Baxter with his second and third films about Trump, appearing in the third movie with photos I took appearing in the second I care about the environment about all animals and animal crimes human rights violations corruption mismanagement in government. I help Black Lives Matters UK with social media - I wrote its 'About' statement for Facebook. In 2019 actor and activist George Takei invited me to join the team of his gun law reform group One Pulse for America. There are over 80,000 members and I write the actions that we take to lobby for better gun laws in America.
