I'm a versatile journalist with more than 23 years of experience covering stories around the world. After J-School at University of Colorado, I began a series of stints, staff positions and ultimately a freelance career combing writing/reporting and photography with an instinct for interesting storytelling. Part of that repertoire was working with trade magazines covering the business of outdoor recreation. That segued into travel-oriented writing that had me heading to far-flung destinations in pursuit of exotic adventure travel. I've covered environmental topics, outdoor gear, high tech, skiing, water sports, scuba diving, mountaineering, cycling, backpacking, long-distance tramping, cultural aspects -- the list goes on. My portfolio includes stories from about 50 countries where I've been on contracted, budget assignments -- most for monthly periodicals, some for web-on sites such as CNN and BBC. The adventure continues.
