Biography
A 1000-word limit. Pretty daunting! After a speedy search, the Ten Commandments only took up 179 words of our time. After a slightly less speedy calculation, that means I could write 55 Commandments for all my obsequious followers to abide by. If all these imaginary followers knew me properly, however, maybe they'd /begin/ to understand that I'm not interested in pedalling an autocratic regime under the innocuous guise of 'budding music journalist'. Especially problematic would be this illusive villain's ungainly proclivities towards esoteric topics - encompassing 70s progressive rock and microtonal jazz -, which would undoubtedly restrict his ability of acquiescing any semblance of a prosperous fan base. If this hypothetical renegade were so ill-intentioned, he would capitalise on his exclusive interviews with upcoming artists - from dulcet, neo-soul mavericks Amapola, to burgeoning lo-fi extraordinaire S-Ilo - to satiate his sagacious, despotic ambitions. Par exemple, amidst the incessant quizzing of our unsuspecting rising star, I'd surreptitiously toss in a seemingly harmless non-sequitur. In that split moment of sheer bafflement, I would slip them an impeccable business card that meant they simply couldn't resist travelling to an undisclosed location and joining my newfound religion/get-together for good. Thankfully, I am not this aforementioned charlatan-of-the-highest-order, who is supposedly swindling the journalism world unbeknownst to his loyal brethren. Those claims have long been disproven. Instead, I'd prefer you think of me as just some guy, doing what he loves, with whom he loves, whenever he damn well loves. Miraculously, I work alongside two unfathomably patient peeps, Evie Hill and Martha Lily Dean, at the regularly-active and ever-peppy 'Written Records' blog. Here, they humour the various unsubstantiated conspiracies that I level at myself, while shrewdly siphoning out top-quality articles from my otherwise incoherent babbling. Voici. I have managed to muster the courage to herd my cowering brain cells, like some deeply depraved sheepdog, to assemble a journalism website of my very own. Regrettably, I must vent emotions (encompassing suppressed rage, to generic carnal urges) some-bloody-where, and they instinctively formed a locus comprising this sorry profile where the epicentre of bedlam is, indeed, cette bio. TLDR: I write music articles, reviews and conduct artists interviews, predominantly for Written Records at www.writtenrecords.org
