Biography
Todd R. Weiss got into technology journalism after asking his former newpaper editor to let him create and cover a new technology beat at the paper. The editor said no. "No one cares about technology," the former editor told him in response. Apparently, that editor was wrong. Weiss ended up writing about technology for Computerworld starting in May of 2000 and has covered tech since then, never looking back. In February of 2022, Weiss joined Futurum Research as a Senior Technology Analyst after serving as the managing editor of EnterpriseAI.news for 19 months. In his tech writing career he has covered AI, machine learning, robotics, open source, Linux, enterprise AI use, cloud computing, semiconductors, AI chips, GPUs, FPGAs, AI in science, business, etc., autonomous tech and IT in business. He has also covered data backup and recovery, business continuity, storage, cloud computing, virtualization, containers and microservices, mobile devices, IT security, enterprise applications, enterprise IT, and much more. He worked previously as a staff writer for Computerworld and eWEEK.com, covering a wide variety of IT beats before freelancing with a wide range of technology websites including Computerworld, TechRepublic, CIO UK, CIO.com, eWEEK, Data Center Knowledge, IT Pro Today, Windows ITPro, SC Magazine, The New Stack and more. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He spends his spare time watching classic Humphrey Bogart movies and collecting toy taxis and taxi business cards from around the world.
