Company Info

Florida Catholic

With a mission to educate readers on issues of importance to the Catholic Church and the flock, The Florida Catholic published its first weekly issue on December 1, 1939. In the eight decades since, the newspaper had grown to include six of the seven dioceses of Florida, and now it includes four digital editions for three of Florida's dioceses and its archdiocese. Msgr. William Barry, a hallmark of Catholic leadership in the Sunshine State and brother of Bishop Patrick Barry, served as the first publisher and executive editor. After his death in 1940, bishops served as publisher of the publication, as is done today. The support of the Catholic shepherd ensures that the Catholic faithful are educated under the tenets of the faith. Today, Florida Catholic Media is a multimedia communication services provider that supports its partner dioceses and other Catholic collaborators by being an authentic and reliable source of news and information that people trust to foster and promote the Catholic Church and their faith life. Our Mission is To Evangelize: Educate, Form and Inspire.
