Biography

Traci Lee is an award-winning producer with experience in journalism, digital media, and audio/video production. She was a 2019-2020 Annenberg Leadership Initiative Fellow at USC’s Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism, advising and working with students in digital reporting, broadcast journalism and podcasting, and newsroom management. Previously, she oversaw NBC Asian America at NBC News, which included supervising the production of a dozen web series and documentaries that have screened nationally. Her work experience also includes helping to launch MSNBC.com, the cable channel’s first website, in 2012; working with anchors and producers to build social media profiles, develop strategies for effectively using digital platforms, and engage audiences through digital media; and reporting and blogging about culture and politics for MSNBC and NBC News throughout multiple election cycles and breaking news events. Traci got her start in national news at NPR News as an intern in Washington D.C. Outside of journalism, she has freelanced as a PR consultant for IW Group, a multicultural marketing agency working with major film studios in Los Angeles, and co-hosted and produced Dawson’s Speak: A Podcast About Dawson’s Creek. Recognition for her work includes: first place in Human Interest Features at the Southern California Journalism Awards, the New Media Broadcast Executive Award at the Multicultural Media Correspondents Dinner, and the Leadership Diversity Award from the Asian American Journalists Association. Her bylines have appeared at NBC News, Teen Vogue, HuffPost, and Bustle, to name a few. She is an outspoken advocate for alopecia awareness and a youth mentor for the National Alopecia Awareness Foundation and for the Children’s Alopecia Project.
