Biography
Salhalchifoat Wulf James-Roby. Chikasha soya. Aaminitilli Kansas. I am called Wulf Roby. I am Chickasaw. My passions include literacy, equity and advocacy for marginalized communities, including black, brown and indigenous rights, transgender and queer rights, and protections for people with disabilties. Every job I've had post-college has involved writing and/or editing. From social media to grants and government proposals--I can do that. (Journalism, ghostwriting, co-writing, editing, and training for any or all of the above are also options, email me.) I completed an MS in Native Leadership (Organizational Leadership) during the pandemic. I'm a member of the ADA Coordinator Training Program through the University of Missouri. I also recently completed PMP coursework and have been approved to test for that certification. Drying the Mud, a paper looking the intersection of poverty and education though an indigenous lens, appeared in the 2020 winter edition of the Coalition on Adult Basic Education/COABE journal. I have several current writing projects including a text book chapter and freelance pieces on healthcare, homelessness, literacy, disability--and sometimes an overlap of one or more of those. I am also a published and prize-winning poet and creative nonfiction writer across many publications. Other endeavors include consulting for diversity, equity and inclusion for businesses and nonprofits and a newly-launched publishing company geared toward emerging queer voices. Wulf is an advocate and speaker on issues related to 2SLGBTQIA issues and poverty alleviation. Previous publications include both digital and print, from East Central University’s ‘Originals,’ the Dead Mule of Southern Literature, Glassfire Magazine, the Havik Anthology and cleaning up glitter. Literary recognitions include several medals and awards in poetry from the Chickasaw Nation’s Anoli Creative Writer’s Awards and the Te Ata Fisher Art Show, the Paul Hughes Memorial Writing Awards, and the Southern Oklahoma Writer’s Guild. I was also recognized as a leader in HIV/AIDS advocacy as one of 100 of POZ magazine’s top transgender, gender-nonconforming and nonbinary advocates in 2019. And I'm just getting started.
